Dashcam footage shows the exact moment in which actor Alec Baldwin crashed his wife's Range Rover into a tree in the Hamptons.
The footage, which was recorded from the POV of a National Waste Services truck's driver's side, was originally obtained by Newsmax and re-shared by TMZ. The clip shows the garbage truck seemingly rolling through a right turn on Montauk Highway before slowly turning onto the road's shoulder as the white Range Rover plows into a tree.
Baldwin confirmed that he and his brother, Stephen, who was also in the vehicle during the crash, were both "fine" in a video shared on his Instagram addressing the accident on Monday (October 13).
The two actors were in town for the Hamptons International Film Festival over the weekend. Baldwin said he was driving his wife Hilaria's Range Rover when a large garbage truck caused him to veer off the road and crash into a tree.
"To avoid hitting him, I hit a tree," he said, noting that his wife's vehicle was "pretty smashed up" after hitting the "big, fat tree."
"That's all fine, and I'm fine, and my brother's fine," he added, while also revealing that he was headed to Los Angeles to see his family.
Alec thanked the East Hampton Police Department and the officer who helped him and Stephen after the crash took place, while also sending his congratulations to everyone involved in the Hamptons Film Festival. Photos taken from the scene showed the actor talking on his cellphone while the Range Rover was smashed into a tree.
Baldwin was photographed at the Hamptons Film Festival on Friday (October 10) and reported to have attended the Buffalo Film Festival on Saturday (October 11) before once again attending the Hamptons Film Festival with Stephen on Sunday (October 12).
