Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf taking a swing at a Detroit Lions fan during the team's Week 16 matchup at Ford Field on Sunday (December 21).

The CBS Sports live broadcast showed Metcalf talking to a fan in a blue wig who was hanging over a railing before appearing to throw a punch with a closed right fist and walking away. The fan, who was holding a yellow jersey, threw his hands up after appearing to be struck by Metcalf.

"[Metcalf] came over because the fan in the stands was holding a 'For Pittsburgh' jersey," said CBS Sports sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson of the incident. "He went over and the fan said something to him, obviously. Metcalf did not like what he said and you saw the swipe there. No Steelers came over to him and mentioned anything."

The incident took place after the Steelers' offense struggled early, totaling just 68 yards on their first four possessions. Metcalf was held to just one catch in the first half, having re-entered the game on Pittsburgh's ensuing offensive possession after the incident with the fan.

Metcalf was called for pass interference on the following possession, which sparked a loud reaction from the Detroit crowd. The veteran wide receiver was acquired by the Steelers in a trade with the Seattle Seahawks, having spent his first six seasons with the franchise prior to the trade.

Metcalf entered Sunday's game with 55 receptions for 808 yards and six touchdowns.
